A time clock limits the running time of your heating system,thereby reducing wasteful use of energy.

• The thermostat, controlling the heat output from the boiler to the house, should be installed in an area that is indicative of the general heat conditions of the house. Remember, a reduction of 1oC on your thermostat
can reduce annual space heating costs by 10%.

• You should have your boiler professionally serviced at least once a year.

/

• If you have an old central heating control system it may be worth installing a new one.

• Optional Boiler Controls:
- A weather compensation system regulates the heating system based
on both indoor and outdoor temperatures.

- An optimiser is an intelligent control that also reads indoor and outdoor temperatures. It then switches on the heating for the shortest possible time to provide the ideal level of comfort.

If you answer No to all or the majority of the below questions, it would be beneficial for you to install some heating controls:

Can you heat your domestic water without switching on your radiators or an electric immersion heater?

Can you turn on your heating without heating your domestic water?

Can you easily adjust the heat output from radiators in the rooms you use most often?

Have you temperature control on your boiler?

Have you time control on your boiler that you can set for a whole week?

Have you a separate temperature control for you hot water cylinder?

Have you a separate time control on your hot water cylinder?

High Efficiency Boiler

If you answer yes to all or the majority of these questions it would be beneficial for you to investigate installing a new high efficiency boiler:

Was your current boiler installed over 10 years ago?

Are you spending increasing amounts of money replacing parts on your current boiler?

Has your heating bill been increasing in recent years?

Is your current boiler too big for your needs? (Are there less people in your house now, do

you need less heat and hot water?)

Does your boiler service engineer recommend that you change your boiler soon?

Does your boiler make more noise when operating than it used to?

Does your boiler emit more smoke when operating than it used to?
